4th Grade News

Hello Fourth Grade Families,

We have a busy week here in fourth grade!
Goal for the Week:   Finish reading my fantasy book OR complete my book report packet OR finish my fantasy map. (Depending on what students have completed so far.)

Announcements:

Needed:  White buttons … can you help us out ???

Toymaker Permission Form: Thank you for returning the in-house science field trip permission slips and checks for $10 for the Toymaker’s Workshop. These went home in last week’s Friday folders. I’m attaching electronic copy to this week’s email, just in case.

Cinderella Stories: We're adding more completed Cinderella stories to the website daily!  The "Cinderellas" page has links to the students' stories, recorded using the iPad. Please let me know if you're having trouble viewing/listening to your student's story.

IXL December Challenge: Complete Fraction skills Q.2, Q.3, Q.5, Q.9, and Q.10 with an 80 or higher smart score. Reward = bring a stuffed animal to school day.

This Week:

We’re completing Starting Topic 10 (Fractions), and an abbreviated Topic 8 (Dividing by 1-Digit numbers), learning about speaker tags and dialogue punctuation in writing, practicing writing metaphors and similes, continuing our map skills unit by exploring our Washington state desk maps, turning our illustrated Cinderella stories into online and hard copy storybooks, starting a holiday surprise for parents, investigating Ecosystems in science, and reading a tall tale to learn about figurative language.

With thanks,
Emily Larson
