Brrrr
…. It
is cold out there! Please help your student dress properly for
this freezing weather. Remember, they are outside for a full 30
minutes at lunch recess. We also had a fire drill yesterday, and although it
was sunny out it was a long 12 minutes standing still in line outside for the
handful of students wearing shorts. In case of an actual emergency, this could
have been much longer! This is a good
week for long pants, gloves, and hats!
Goal for the Week: Be a serious science student and study for the test.

Letter From Our School Nurse: Mrs.
McGavran has asked us to pass along the attached letter
about when to keep students home from school. It would also be a great idea
to remind students to practice good hand washing/sanitizing practices. We
remind them often at school, but it can’t hurt to remind them at home as well.
Let’s keep those kiddos healthy!
This Week:
We’re finishing our
science topic on Ecosystems, writing an expository piece for a district
assessment, continuing our walk-to-reading novel study groups, learning about
decimals, celebrating the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., and playing math
games with our reading buddies!
With thanks,
Emily Larson
