I’m looking forward to meeting with all of
you this coming Friday, Monday, and Tuesday to share all of the progress the
fourth graders have made since the beginning of the year! I’m attaching the final version of the
conference schedule to this week’s email.
Goal for this week and next week: Pick a fantasy genre book
and get teacher approval before Thanksgiving Break. (Note: There
will be no Weekly Update / Learning Log this week or next week)

Early Release Reminder: School will be
dismissed at 11:25 this Friday, Monday, and Tuesday.:
Fantasy Genre Report will be due Dec. 18th: This week students will be
selecting a fantasy book. The assignment, which includes a paragraph and
a creative map, will be introduced after Thanksgiving.
Spelling: No
spelling until after Thanksgiving break.
Math
Fact Tests: No math fact tests until after Thanksgiving
break.
This Week:
We’re introducing Math
Topic 7 (Multiplying by 2-Digit Numbers), learning how to transition and add
voice in writing, setting 2nd Trimester goals, reading multi-cultural
Cinderella stories and exploring how the setting changes the familiar tale, discussing
how to improve our writing “voice”, learning about maps, and completing art
pieces to illustrate our own “Cinderella” stories.
