4th Grade News

Hello Fourth Grade Families,

Goal for the Week:  Turn in my Walk-a-Thon Envelope, wear purple on Thursday, and have fun walking!
Announcements:

Walkathon: is tomorrow (Thursday)!  Fourth graders wear purple … the color of royalty!  Pull out your crowns, tiaras, and princess hats! Dress your 4th grader head-to-toe in PURPLE!!

Walkathon Envelopes: were due Tuesday, October 2nd. Please return all envelopes ASAP whether or not students participated in fundraising.

“Gravy Group” Challenge Contract: “Gravy Group” is the optional challenge track for students who are ready and responsible enough to extend their fourth grade learning. Gravy Group Challenge Contracts will be coming home in students’ Friday Take-Home folders this week. Please discuss this with your student to decide if Gravy Group is a good fit for your student!  Signed contracts must be returned to start Gravy Group participation, but can be returned at any point in the year as long as there are at least 5 Gravy Group projects remaining.
This Week:

We’re completing and testing on math Topic 2 Adding and Subtracting Whole Numbers, starting math Topic 3 Multiplication Meanings and Facts, getting October Mystery books approved, writing narratives about the Titanic, completing our Underwater art projects, reading a mysterious story called The Stranger, and having a fabulously ROYAL PURPLE time at the Walk-a-thon on Thursday!

With thanks,
Emily Larson
